About Michel Malouf's Art

Michel Maalouf (Arabic: معلوف) is an Egyptian artist of Lebanese descent. He was born in 1960 and graduated from the College of Fine Arts in 1985.

Michel began his artistic journey in 1978 and published his first work in Al-Shabab magazine in 1980. Over the years, he became one of the most important creators of children’s magazines in the Arab world. From 1987 to 1997, he worked with Basem magazine, and he also created the title character for Bolbol magazine by Akhbar El Youm. Michel played a major role in developing beloved cartoon stories and characters in Arabic culture.

He also designed animated characters and cartoons for major brands such as Labanita and Nestlé. His artwork is featured in Egypt’s Police Museum, the Danshway Museum, and in many private collections across Egypt and Europe.

In recent years, Michel has shifted his focus away from comics to concentrate fully on fine arts and painting, where he continues to explore new themes and creative expressions.

بدأ مشواره الفني عام 1978، ونُشرت أول أعماله في مجلة الشباب عام 1980. أصبح لاحقًا من أبرز مبدعي مجلات الأطفال في العالم العربي، وشارك في العمل مع مجلة باسم من عام 1987 حتى 1997، كما قام بابتكار شخصية بلبل لمجلة بلبل الصادرة عن أخبار اليوم. لعب ميشيل دورًا رئيسيًا في تطوير قصص وشخصيات كرتونية محبوبة في الثقافة العربية.

كما صمم شخصيات وأفلام كرتونية لعلامات تجارية كبرى مثل لبنيتا ونسله. وتُعرض أعماله الفنية في متحف الشرطة ومتحف دنشواي بمصر، بالإضافة إلى العديد من المجموعات الخاصة في مصر وأوروبا.

في السنوات الأخيرة، ابتعد ميشيل عن مجال الكوميكس ليركز بشكل كامل على الفنون التشكيلية والرسم، حيث يواصل استكشاف موضوعات وأساليب فنية جديدة.
